Dedicated, Driven Volunteers
The Board of Directors for the Schoolhouse Playcare Centre of Lakehead Inc. is all volunteer members who are dedicated to the quality care and education that the centre provides.
The board meets ten times a year to discuss issues directly involving the centers. Each board member is responsible for attending these meetings and assigned a committee head. The committee head is responsible for canvassing interested parents to help on sub-committees. The sub-committees will assist with projects that the centre is involved in.
The board members are involved in the overall operation of the centres, the business, fundraising, assisting in the hiring of staff, future goals and objectives and other pertinent areas.
The Annual General Meeting is held in the fall and notification will go out in advance for all members and families.

Overall supervision of all Programs and centres
Head Educator
One for each location; oversees daily operation of centres and participates in the Program.
Resource Consultant
Consults, provides resources and support for families and educators in our Inclusive child care centres.
Pedagogical Lead
Guides, mentors, supports and trains Early Childhood Educators to enable them to deliver high quality, early learning experiences following the Reggio Emilia Inspired approach to learning.
Early Childhood Educators
Responding to individual children’s needs, corresponding with parents about their children and implementation of programming.
Food Preparer
Planning and preparing all meals and snacks in accordance with the Canada Food Guide.
